Description: Large, tropical climbing plant that has fenestrated leaves when mature. Grows long cord-like aerial roots. Its inflorescence is spathe-shaped.
Light: Bright, indirect light.
Water: Water when dry.
Other Care: For larger leaves and more dynamic perforations provide a trellis or a stake for the plant to climb.
Origins: Native to tropical forests of southern Mexico.
Interesting Facts: This house plant sometimes fruits! To get to the pineapple-like flesh of the fruit, the scaly exterior must be flaked off. It can take as long as a year to ripen. Be careful -- it's toxic when unripe. Part of the Aroid (Araceae) family.
