Description: Uniquely patterned foliage with deep purple undersides to long, slender leaves with a slight frill. Rarely flowers indoors, but when it does it has white flowers that appear at the base of the plant.
Light: Bright, indirect light.
Water: Keep moist, but do not oversaturate. Sensitive to minerals in the water.
Other Care: This plant flourishes in high humidity.
Origins: Native to Brazil.
Other Interesting Facts: Members if the Maranta family move their leaves into an erect position at night, giving them their common name, "prayer plant." Part of the Arrowroot (Marantaceae) family.
