Every year, we are proud to offer our guests Christmas Trees that are not only beautiful, but planet-friendly, too! We thought you might like to know a bit more about what it takes to grow the stunning Organic Noble Firs you'll find at the Farm this time of year, so we've put together a short video for you to hear from the growers firsthand.
Meet our friends Roger and Cathy, the owners of Trillium Forest Farms and longtime organic growers of Christmas Trees and more. After all, organic practices don't just apply to food crops!
"We think it's important to not use chemicals, pesticides, or chemical herbicides," Cathy explains. And the reason behind that is love — a love of the environment, of wildlife, and of the natural splendor of our state. "We've both been Oregonians our whole life," Roger adds, "and we appreciate the beauty of the state, and we'd like to keep it that way as much as possible." That's why their whole operation outside of Sandy, OR is set up to ensure that no harmful chemicals or runoff enters our waterways. And because they pruned and shaped by hand, these are not only trees you can feel good about bringing inside this holiday season, but they are truly beautiful, too.
At Cornell Farm, we believe that all of us can play a part in being better environmental stewards at home, which is why we're proud to partner with local growers like Roger and Cathy, who represent just one of many family-owned, sustainable Christmas tree farms in Oregon and Washington that supply us with all of our premium-grade Christmas Trees.
If you want to be a better environmental steward this holiday season, taking home an organic tree is a great first step. And whether or not it was grown organically, we invite you to recycle your Christmas Tree once it has finished beautifying your home. To learn more about our tree recycling program in partnership with the Tualatin River National Wildlife Refuge, visit our main Christmas Tree page or visit us in person.
If you're looking to take home an organic Christmas Tree this holiday season, be sure to shop early, as Roger and Cathy are only able provide us with a limited number of trees per year. If you like the look of these Nobles, feel free to browse all of the Christmas Tree varieties that we carry, then visit us in person at the Farm to pick out the perfect tree for your family.
