Light: Select a location with partial shade or a couple of hours of bright light is ideal. Miltonia can tolerate a little bit of morning sun, but should be shielded from the harsh afternoon sun.
Water: Miltonias prefer to be kept evenly moist, but not waterlogged. Water thoroughly using lukewarm temperature when the potting medium is nearly dry, allowing excess water to drain completely. Water less often in cooler temperatures.
Soil: Use a well-draining potting mix, such as a combination of fir bark, sphagnum moss, and pebbles. Miltonias are epiphytes, so they prefer a loose, airy medium that allows for good air circulation around the roots. Repot every 2-3 years, or when the potting medium begins to decompose.
Fertilize: regularly with a balanced orchid fertilizer, following the instructions on the package. Reduce fertilizer strength during the cooler months.
