Common Names: Variegated Snake Plant, Laurentii Sansevieria, Mother-in-Laws Tongue, Devil's Tongue, African Spear, Bow String Hemp.

Description: Long, narrow, thick leaves with yellow margins and mottled green centers that protrude directly from the ground. Flowers rarely, white or cream flowers grow on a long flower stalk.

Light: Bright, indirect light. Can tolerate both low light and some gentle sun.

Water: Water when dry. Drought tolerant.

Origins: Native to Africa and India.

Interesting Facts: Sansevieria trifasciata has been an incredibly important plant used for centuries to produce high-quality cordage for the making of rope, baskets, bowstrings, and many other products. Part of the Asparagus (Asparagaceae) family. Recently reclassified to genus Dracaena.
