Common Names: Moonshine Snake Plant, Sansevieria, Mother-in-Law's Tongue, Devil's Tongue, African Spear.
Description: Long, wide, thick leaves with a greyish blue hue that protrude directly from the ground. Flowers rarely, white or cream flowers grow on a long flower stalk.
Light: Bright, indirect light. Can tolerate low light.
Water: Water when dry. Drought tolerant.
Origins: Native to Africa and India.
Interesting Facts: Sansevieria trifasciata has been an incredibly important plant used for centuries to produce high-quality cordage for the making of rope, baskets, bowstrings, and many other products. Part of the Asparagus (Asparagaceae) family. Recently reclassified from Sansevieria to Dracaena.
