Discover the traditional Chinese art of penjing with this hands-on workshop and seminar by Josie Losh, the esteemed Curator of Horticulture at Portland's Lan-Su Chinese Garden. In this two-hour event, you will learn about Chinese gardening and how penjing (the Chinese predecessor of bonsai) uses plants to craft detailed miniature landscapes — then, Josie will guide you to create your own. Dwarf fern leaf bamboo is an incredibly resilient plant to start with. All supplies will be provided as you are guided through creating your own bamboo penjing, all the while enjoying gourmet appetizers and a cocktail from Cornell Cafe Cafe.
