Watercolor Garden Journal Workshop - Advanced Techniques
with Artist Kari Gale

Intermediate-Advanced Level
Tuesday, August 30 | 3:30 - 6:30 pm
in the Covered Pavilion behind the Cafe

Recommended Prerequisite: Introductory Watercolor Garden Journal Workshop.
Please note: Materials are provided in the introductory course or must be purchased separately.

So many attendees of Kari's first Watercolor Garden Journal Workshop asked for a follow-up that we couldn't help but answer that call! In this three-hour workshop, Portland artist Kari Gale will dive deeper into the techniques presented in her introductory Watercolor Garden Journal Workshop. Attendees will receive in-depth instruction on creating their very own watercolor garden journal as Kari guides them through:

  • how to use cross-hatching and other types of hatching to create contrast and depth on every page of your journal
  • how to use the outline and texture ‘live painting’ techniques in a variety of garden landscapes
  • how to construct and create ideal compositions
  • how to layer colors to bring your garden journal life and vibrancy
  • and more!

Plus, attendees can sip a glass of wine and enjoy some light refreshments from our Cafe while they work. Participants should bring their tiny travel watercolor art kit, waterbrush, Kari’s favorite drawing pens, and — of course — their very own garden watercolor journal that they received in the first workshop.

If you are unable to attend the recommended prerequisite or otherwise find yourself in need of a travel watercolor kit, you may add one to your cart along with your registration.

In the event that all seats in the workshop sell out, you are invited to add your name to the waitlist.
